Botswanan Persecution

As indicated by the seventeenth century and just about every waking moment since, the natural inhabitants of locations have been overrun, enslaved, and just viewed as an overall burden. They have not garnered the slightest bit of compassion or respect reserved for every human being; they've been relegated to subhuman status. While this is being combated, people are still using indigenous groups as walking floor mats.

In particular, the Botswanan government is refusing to give the Bushmen (San, !Kung, etc.) living on the Central Kalahari Game Reserve access to the necessities of life such as water and game in an attempt to get them to immigrate elsewhere. The motivation toward the forced immigration is the bountiful amounts of diamonds on the reserve desired by the government, enough diamonds to make, and already have made, Botswana the richest country in Africa per capita. In short, the Botswana government is murdering people via dehydration in order to rape their lands to make a profit.

The ethical quandary is evident and I believe that those in charge of making this decision have such messed up moral compasses that I doubt they can even function properly. I feel like this goes beyond the water though. This pushes into the realm of rights and not the obvious human right violations. For example, why does the Botswanan government have the rights over this area of land? Who does it actually belong to: the people who have been sustained off of it for thousands of years or those who have the most guns? Why did only two out of the three High Court judges say they were constitutionally allowed to live on the land? Why does the set of rules of a foreign entity apply to the Bushmen? This is the root of the territorial conflicts in Africa. This is the cause of the violence and wars. People shouldn't infringe on others' ways of life, especially not by attempting to eradicate it.
